Song View: God of This City

As ONE VOICE approaches, we’ll be releasing some of the set list so that you can familiarize yourself & your church with the songs, and so that we can explore them at a deeper level.

One of the first songs confirmed is Chris Tomlin’s “God of This City“. This song speaks of who God is and how there is great work to be done in our cities. Here’s the words from the chorus:

Greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done in this city

This line is really moving especially as we look at what God has already done in our community. Church planting is alive, there’s churches of all different sizes & styles meeting the spiritual, physical, & relational needs of our cities. And yet there are “greater things” still to be done. The opportunity for the church to reach more people with the news of God’s love and grace has never been more present. Families need guidance during this age of materialism. People losing their “treasures” need real physical help. People who are at their wit’s end with relationships, jobs, finances, etc - need to hear that God is on their side. We as the church need to mobilize more than ever and serve our communities and be what Jesus intended for us to be.

ONE VOICE is really a grass roots movement in the Temecula Valley to promote unity & worship within the local church. We’d love to have you promote ONE VOICE on your website, on your blog, in your church, and wherever else you can. Here’s a page with some resources for websites & print media.
